Emergency Call in Support of Kichwa Communities of the Ecuadorian Amazon It could not have come at a worse time. As COVID-19 spread around the world but had yet to hit the Amazon Rainforest and threaten its Indigneous population, three successive extreme floods along the Bobonaza River have left hundreds of Indigenous people and their families in a highly precarious situation. Forced to self-isolate because of the presence of COVID-19 in the region and left without governmental support, these ancestral guardians of the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest are desperately in need of our help.
